Lutz Kleveman, born in Germany in 1974, is a traveler, writer and photographer.

He studied French Literature in Aix-en-Provence and International History at the London School of Economics. Specialising in conflict zones, Lutz has reported from the Balkans, West Africa, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, South America, and South East Asia.

Lutz has mainly written and photographed for the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, Die Zeit, Newsweek, Playboy Magazine and various other magazines in Germany, Britain, and the States.

He is the author of The New Great Game: Blood and Oil in Central Asia (New York and London, 2003) and of Der Kampf um das Heilige Feuer: Wettlauf der Weltmächte am Kaspischen Meer (Berlin, 2002). His other passion is filming.

Currently, Lutz lives with his soulmate Laila in Berlin and at Gut Ankelohe, working on a new book.
